Cover your walls with ART!

I think I mentioned in my “About” page that I love to paint.  I have always painted.  I love to get inspired by browsing around in stores, online, and watching TV.  Even though I may not be the BEST painter, I think I can create some personal pieces of artwork to decorate my walls and even create personalized gifts to give away to friends and family.  I love it!  And they usually do too… I think.  🙂

So here’s a little sample of some artwork I’ve created in the past–some I have hanging in my house right now and others I have given away.  I like to paint for kiddos using their names and theme of their nursery or bedroom.  All my kids have one, and I have made several for friends that had new babies.  So fun!

All of these are painted on canvases just purchased at the local craft store with acrylic paint.  Usually I get my canvases at Michaels… they go on sale often and you can get them in multiple packs unless you want an odd size.  I have never made my own canvases, though I have heard of people doing this.  I’m not sure if it is less expensive than just buying them already made.  Let me know if you have experience making your own canvases and your thoughts.  I have seen several people creating artwork using mixed media such as scrapbook paper, paint, and markers/paint pens.  I’m hoping to give this a go very soon.

I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I enjoyed painting them!
